Holiday Mode
Hi! remember me?
well, I am in full on retail holiday mode, so I am not around my computer as much as I would like to be!
thankyou SOOOOO much for all of your nice comments about my shop!
things have been wild and crazy at the shop, tis the season...So I don't even know where to begin, but it's ALL good Stuff though!
Just trying to keep up with it all. At times I wake up in the middle of the night with those "ohmigosh" thoughts, thinking about this and that, loose ends here and there.
wishing I could turn this old mind off at times.
although I should say, when you wake up in the morning and your eyelashes are permanently bent and pasted to your upper eyelid, you probably are able to tune SOMETHING out, because you were out like a LIGHT and sleeping HARD.
why am I talking in the third person? is that even the third person? hmmmmm. can you tell I am a spaz?
anyways....on to other things, added a few new songs to the side bar over there, hope I am not blasting your eardrums, but I just had to share this new band I am smitten with.
Dear KINGS OF LEON,
I love you.
ignore the naughty little lyrics and get past all of that and break it down to the beat which is what's really important.
I had those 3 songs + a few others of theirs blasting on my Ipod this morning and was able to do 3o minutes non stop on the eliptical machine this morning at the Y. whoo-hoo!
trying to get back into that swing of exercising! SO hard at this time of year, especially coming down from Thanksgiving and all of that FOOD.... but I gotta do it! it gave me clarity this morning, and pep.
You see it's that kind of revving up I need. gotta keep plugging along!
Still continuing to craft, and order more things because we have been selling out like crazy!
SO I will leave you with a few little images from the past week, because my life is on this crazy treadmill, living
fast, working hard, playing hard and having FUN!
just too much coming at me to share all of it, but I will break it down like this....
thanksgiving AT A RESTAURANT with my people
(so nice not to have to cook or clean)
do you know how hard it is to find clothing that's NICE to wear for thanksgiving for a child with a MASSIVE cast on his arm?
not easy, people.
thankfully we found something nice! and sweet little Fiona
let me buy her a red velvet dress, white tights with little black and white houndstooth checked maryjanes with matching bows for her hair.
SO cute. because even though I have naughty music on the side bar, there is that slightly preppy part if me that likes to see her kids dressed appropriately! at lease while I CAN! :)
because if Fiona grows up to be anything remotely like her personality, she will either be a Rhodes scholar, or on the back of a Harley sporting tattoos!
not that there is anything WRONG with tattoos, mind you.
in fact my friend (and new part time employee) is covered in them.
from head to toe. and she couldn't be a sweeter person.
I wish I had that kind of commitment. my tastes change like the wind, so no tattoos for me.
But I can appreciate their beauty and art form.
now speaking of beauty,
My friend stopped by this week with her new beautiful baby.
are you just dying? because I am.
sweet little 9 week old pug Desi arnez junior.
rescued from a puppy mill, where he was living in a wire crate exposed to the harsh elements... into one of the warmest homes on the planet, where he will be over-loved for sure.
don't you just love a happy ending?
Now this same week I had vistors come to the shop that I met over the blog, the sweet Linda Crispell from Chicago, and her sweet family......
she brought me some of her FANTASTIC art work that I bought online from her Etsy shop.
dont you just LOVE that red gingham!?
she was So kind and tucked in another print and the cutest little kewpie doll shadow box as an extra treat oh my!
this woman has THE BEST TASTE AND STYLE. just check out her home, and you will know what I am talking about!
love you Linda! xoxoxo
also this past week I had the most adorable thing happen.
a little care package was sent my way from Tumblefish studios in california.
inside was an altered trading card with my face on it, some vintage ephemera and one of the most adorable things I have ever seen.....
a vintage red shoe.
I have had THE most fun filling it with boxwood and displaying it here and there.
I can imagine this little shoe travelling all over with me and having tiny adventures. maybe a tiny book?
my mind twirling with ideas of course.
so to end this long winded, all over the place post....
I better get back to crafting, I only have an hour, 28 minutes, left before i have to pick up kids.
today I am working on a project that is actually FOR a book.
one from the "pretty little series" by Lark books.
I was fortunate to be invited to participate. (but of course am procrastinating and freaking out about.)
I don;t know how I have managed to get all of this press!
because last week I also managed to make it into yet ANOTHER design book that landed on my doorstep!
one HUGE page in a hardcover design book.
wild I tell you.
I'll share that one at another time.
ANYWAYS, just know that I am TRULY THANKFUL for ALL OF your nice comments, emails , gifts, and friendships!
I can't tell you how many generous things have been bestowed upon me, and how TRULY THANKFUL I AM for all of it!
I am just riding this wild retail rollercoaster right now and can't get back with you.
So please forgive me.
and hopefully you will forgive me for my naughty musical tastes too.
it's just too darn toe tappin not to love it!
plus i clearly need that kind of kick in the pants tunes to keep going! :)
hope all is well in your worlds and look forward to catching up soon!
xoxoxoxoxo

Thanks. Your posts are so much fun to read...Ya, that puppy is to die for...LOVE the red shoe!...My computer speakers are turned off, and now that I know the lyrics to the new music is naughty, I'm kinda scared to turn them on...Are they REALLY naughty??...I love that Bella Luna song you introduced me to. I added it to my Playlist a long time ago, and everytime I hear it, I think I need to tell you thanks. It's a great song. Good wishes for the holiday retail madness. Means you're doing well, and in this economy, that's so great to hear!

Dear Catherine,
Meeting you and seeing your beautiful shop was the highlight of our trip! Thank you for your lovely words. The red shoe Marsha sent you is wonderful!
Love the bright colored tattoos. They would be beautiful prints on shirts and pants. My taste changes too often to commit to one design for the rest of my life. I have always imagined tattooing a Marilyn Monroe beauty mark over my lip.
Your Pal,
Linda

See? I knew the red shoe was destined for you! You make everything charming.
I would love to have been a fly on the wall in a room where you and Linda met - I would expect some momentous paradigm shift in the universe with bright moon beams and twinkly little stars and all that is good in the world to float to the top!
Happy December!
Marsha
