Geez, So much for summer vacation being a a vacation! I can't seem to get my schedule ironed out and get anything done around here.
I swear it takes more work getting ready to laze around the pool than simply going to work and taking kids to school! I am already exhausted just thinking about it.
I Totally am enjoying myself, don't get me wrong, not to mention my kids are so happy to have me around, but man! All I do is laundry , make meals to fit in a cooler for the day, and DRIVE.
oh, it only cost me $75 in gas last week to take my kids here and there.
This week my husband is gone again, back down to North Carolina on business, so I am alone to parent.
THAT portion of things hasn't been as tough as I had imagined,
one week here one week there.... aside from the fact that we miss him, surprisingly things stay WAY more tidy and organized when he's not around, it's a very weird phenomenon, since he's the clean one in the bunch.
in fact when I am flying around moving a million miles an hour like a crazy person and happen to drop and entire container of tunafish on my foot and sandal along with the floor, it so nice to have my own cleanup crew to watch my back and help me clean things up!
dogs make excellent floor-moppers! ;)
So here's what a typical day looks for me these days
gone are the days of leisurely checking my emails like 5000 times.
so I do apologize if I haven't gotten back with you, it's been kind of hard trying to figure that part of my life out. In fact I had a minor panic attack at the shop on Friday, my one and only day I am working this summer.
I simply could not get ANYTHING done and was flipping out a little bit.
I managed to get my head straight and relax, but every once in awhile I freak out. I just have to tell myself, my kids are only young ONCE, and they are what comes first these days. .........repeat, over and over.
So things are moving a little slower around here, but we are still getting in some great goods.
we got a little shipment of cute frames in.....
perfect for displaying those beachy photos of yours!
we also received a box of goodies from Lisa Kaus, more of her best selling
little wall plaques, some clocks, and a new assortment of handmade cards that are too cute, and very frame worthy little pieces of Art!
we also have some sweet little vintage goods out now, that I FINALLY got
priced and out on the shelves.....(more are lurking in the basement, that I SWEAR will come out soon! :)
i have a soft spot in my heart for Japanese ceramics, and old salt and pepper shakers. just LOOK at those eyelashes!
I also found her.......
a vintage raggedy ann mug from the 1940's...... I mean she's cracked and stained, but how cute would she look holding pencils or paintbrushes in your studio, or even a little bouquet of flowers! SO cute!
Now speaking of flowers, I am enjoying gathering up tiny bundles of flowers from my garden and putting them around my house at this time of year.
think outside the box, or in this case VASE, when you display your flowers!
wouldn't they look so cute in this vintage beer glass?
or even in an old tin can, flowers can make anything look good!
Now speaking of looking good, I spent last weekend at my gorgeous nephew
Jason's graduation party!
hard to believe he's graduating already, I just remember yesterday when I was holding him as a baby!
time sure does fly! so I am enjoying every minute with MY little people,
having fun at bar-B-ques and family functions,
hanging out with girlfriends
eating great food at local restaurants
if you live local , RUN, don't walk to Prickly Pear restaurant and have their
squash soap and warm chicken salad with carmalized pecans and honey vinaigrette OH MY! i could have just flopped around on the floor with a taste bud explosion it was so delicious!
It's such a nice time of year when you can enjoy outdoor cafes and venues with your friends and family!
the only bad thing is that all that fun and activity takes me far from my work
and it's SO hard for me to stay focused on anything NON-social! hee hee!
I just love to SOCIALIZE!
So on that note, I better go, I am totally enjoying being lazy here in my bed, my kids are still asleep on the only day they can do that,
I think I might continue to be lazy myself and watch a few of my shows I taped on my beloved DVR, forget the pile of dishes and mounds of laundry waiting for me.......I'll leave them for later, because there is ALWAYS later in my world! hee hee!
have a happy week everyone, and I will catch up with you soon! :)
