really! it's the little things that make me happy....
I laugh 1,000 times a day at almost anything,.... I don't really care one bit about diamonds,....I would rather stay home with family than go out,
and will do backflips and smile all day long because I got a new frying pan. I'm not kidding.
Do you like my new pan?
I am slowly making the switch to all stainless
cookware, no teflon, or aluminum.
I already had a set of Calphalon cookware that I received as a wedding gift from my mom a million years ago. That was the last time I got a pan. (1993)
I've needed a few more key pieces for YEARS...and finally decided to get a couple.
oh my gosh! Pots and pans are EXPENSIVE!
I love my new Martha Stewart saute pan.
i'm very excited. it wasn't too much. but you have to buy the lid separately, which I thought that was a little ridiculous.
I was also given a gift certificate to Downtown Home and Garden and bought myself a very nice Stock pot with a basket strainer, steaming basket and glass top.
It was HEAVEN making spaghetti in that pot last night...wondering how I ever lived without that thing
I marvel at my new cookware everyday...so excited to have them. silly huh?
oh, just Thinking of what they might inspire me to make makes me SO happy!
I even treated myself to some new storage containers!
I love her glass storage dishes!
I love being able to see my food go to waste in the fridge! because for some reason, we STORE our leftovers, but we never really ever EAT them.
but they look good in the process don't they?!
I am storing the meal I prepared tonight...that was so delicious and EASY!
I have been working long hours these past few days so this was a great, and quick recipe I found in the new cottage living magazine.
It was on a Kikkoman teriyaki ad.
Roast beef Swirlwiches
1/2 Lb. thinly sliced deli roast beef
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1 cup shredded havarti cheese with dill
1/2 cup sliced green onions & tops
6 flour tortillas
1-1/2 cups coarsely chopped crisp lettuce
1 Tbsp. veg. oil
spread roast beef in pan and pour in teriyaki sauce.
marinate 5 minutes (don't over do the time, it gets super-salty)...yes, that's what i did.
on each tortilla sprinkle 2 rounded Tbsp.cheese, 1 Tbsp. green onion.
drain beef and place equal amounts beef and lettuce to the tortilla, roll up jellyroll-style and secure with a toothpick.
brush with oil
and bake on a baking sheet at 400* for 10 minutes.
So that was nice and easy! like I said before, I have been busy, busy at the shop.
Yesterday we set up the new stuff.....
here is the buffet
tommorow I am going to buy a white china marker so you can write on the mirror! perhaps a menu? or a spooky saying......
I also moved the sweet little yellow dresser into the bedroom area.
i am so happy with this cheerful piece.
the yellow is the warmest, happiest color......"morning sunshine" by Benjamin Moore/Graham paints.
can you tell I am having fun with Photoshop?
I should be staying away from the computer, because I swear I AM going blind.
anyhoo....we have been setting up our new pieces and putting out new goods that rolled in.
we just received a shipment of fantastic french Soaps!
i am totally hooked.
I probably washed my hands about 500 times yesterday just because the scent and feel of this soap was AMAZING.
I am not kidding.
it feels like SILK going on your skin, and is made with no animal fats or harsh chemicals, so it is non-drying.
I have it in 3 scents,
and (my favorite)
i will be uploading it to the website tonight.
i am in LOVE with this stuff.....yes, another little thing that is making me happy.
Speaking of little things.....
my daughter made me a "finger Decoration" the other night. yes, not a ring, but a decoration, an acroutement.....
It's those little things that make me laugh, and smile, and wonder.....
what kind of imagination you must have to dream up these things! love that!
I should probably have her use that Hand-soap of mine!
We also got in some 300gram olive oil block soaps from France that are nice too......
along with these adorable Rugs!
and pillows that make me want to scream!
isn't that cow hysterical?!
i mean she looks so Startled. love that.
how about this truck pillow....
because if you are like me, you fantasize about owning one of these some day.
a nice, vintage red Ford F150.
or a chevy would do just fine too.
on that note, I am going to go to sleep.....
off to work again tommorow.....cleaning out the basement at the shop.....trying to set up a nice workroom
for possible get togethers/craft nights in the future.
This is something i have been trying to do for sometime! but I swear, it's getting closer to reality....
I am off to dream about it, because as they say
"dreaming, is as important as doing!"
more coming soon!
