whew! o.k., that was nuts! the past 2 weeks were just incredibly insane, the shop was crazy busy everyday! we had our best year ever .....yahoo!
thankyou to everyone who came in!
then add christmas shopping for MY family and friends ....did it ALL in less than a week!
can i tell you I LOVE to shop, but when I do christmas shopping I always seem to come home with a few things for ME! like this incredibly cute top I bought at urban outfitters. love the little house print of course!
found a great USB turntable for Ian at Urban, where we can upload and digitize all of our old Vinyl records....remember those??
Speaking of old...took my son to his first concert Ever on the monday before Christmas to see the All American rejects, his favorite band.. I was one of the old bags in the audience, had to erase my bags they were so heavy from lack of sleep. but the concert was alot of fun, good tunes even though they dropped about a million F-bombs, and i thought I was gonna die when they threw out an iflatable female doll, when i gasped out loud, my son just said "don't worry mom, it's just a balloon"
ah, sweet youth, perhaps not the best call for an 8 year old, but we had fun nevertheless....
Had a great time over at the Thursby family get together on Christmas eve, can I tell you Ian's dad is the cutest thing ever....look how adorable he is in his all plaid outfit! his parents are originally from england, moved here in the 6o's....I just love their family traditions and how cozy they make the holidays with all of the family around.....we had 20 of us there....the biggest ever!
My Niece brought her boyfriend with her, a man who cooks! look at this amazing spread of vegetables he prepared....
we opened gifts until midnight, then raced home to tuck children into beds to prepare for Santa's arrival....in bed by 2 A.M. oye!
had an early morning with family and made the traditional brunch with ham, eggs, fresh fruit, Zingerman's coffee cake...oink, and MIMOSAS!!
After the crazy amount of gifts were opened and the dust settled, it was nice to just relax for a change and play with our new gadgets....
I got an incredible gift from my dad...a Scroll saw! ohmigosh....I just about fainted! A big Manly power tool just for ME!! can i tell you how many people came in, saw the giant power tool, and assumed it was for Ian....funny.
but it's MINE, all mine.
i cannot WAIT to open that and make some neat cut-out painted wood shapes! I am thinking clocks, wall hangings, frames..all painted up so exciting! I just hope I don't lose a finger. wish me luck!
I have been enjoying staying home with my family and being with them for a change, I haven't been around much lately, so it's been great sleeping in and playing games, and doing frankly nothing! Of course that won't last for too long, I am already thinking about all sorts of crafts and things i want to make, walls i want to paint, and of course, I bought myself a new couch ...so have to make some pillows to go on that!
anyways, good to be back in the blogging world, catching up with old friends, and making new ones....here's to a wonderful new Year filled with possiblity! hope you have a wonderful start to yours!
